RCR ARANDA PIGEM VILALTA ARQUITECTESRafael Aranda, Carme Pigem y Ramon Vilalta son arquitectos desde 1987 y fundan en 1988 RCR ARQUITECTES en su ciudad natal Olot. Son Premio Pritzker 2017, Premio Nacional de Cultura de Arquitectura 2005 de la Generalitat de Catalunya, Chevalier y Officier de l’ordre des arts et des lettres 2008 y 2014 de la Repúblique Française, Miembros honoríficos por la AIA American Institute of Architecture 2010, Miembros honoríficos por el RIBA Royal Institute of British Architects 2012, Medalla de Oro de l’Académie d’Architecture Francesa 2015 y Medalla de Oro de la Generalitat de Catalunya 2018 y Miembros Extranjeros de la Académie d'Architecture 2019. Desde 2020 forman parte de la colección permanente del Centro Pompidou.Desde 1989 son arquitectos asesores del Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa y han sido profesores de Urbanismo y Arquitectura del Paisaje (1989-2001, Vilalta) y de Proyectos (1992-2004, Pigem), habiendo escrito ensayos sobre arquitectura y paisaje. Actualmente convocan y dirigen desde el 2008 un Workshop Internacional de verano en su estudio ubicado en la sede de la antigua fundición Barberí, desde su estructura de laboratorio RCR LABꞏA. As the gigantic grey sail no longer serves its original purpose of shielding the harbour from wind gusts, the time to envision an urban regeneration project has finally come.
